As the 90th birthday celebrations have begun, this set of four 90th birthday coins from the Commonwealth captures the Queen both as a monarch in public, and as a wife and mother in private.

This set of four Queen Elizabeth coins from Commonwealth countries celebrates the 90th birthday of Her Majesty the Queen. The coins, struck by The Royal Mint for Niue, the Cayman Islands, East Caribbean States and Bermuda, have reverse designs celebrating different aspects of the Queen’s life. They were created by Royal Mint coin designers Thomas Docherty and Jody Clark, and together they tell the story of the Queen as a monarch, as Head of the Commonwealth, and as a wife and mother. All four 90th birthday coins have been struck in sterling silver, finished to Proof standard, and are presented together in a Royal Mint case with a booklet on the inspiration for each coin’s design.

Reverse

The coins all feature designs approved by the Palace. They were created by Royal Mint coin designers Thomas Docherty and Jody Clark, and together they tell the story of the Queen as a monarch, as Head of the Commonwealth, and as a wife and mother.

Obverse

Issued as legal tender under the authorities of Bermuda, Niue, Cayman Islands & the East Caribbean States. The denomination, and year date of 2016 are also shown on the coin’s obverse.

Packaging

All four coins are presented together in a Royal Mint case with a booklet on the inspiration for each coin’s design. The box has an outer sleave bearing the 90th birthday cypher designed by acclaimed artist Christopher Hobbs.
