Fresh from a Washington, DC diplomatic family estate is this elegant covered bowl, with two gilt handles. The piece bears the blue underglaze mark of Royal Vienna-beehive. On the base and under the lid are the titles of the subjects of the four neo-classical scenes-two on the lid, two on the underbowl. There is some wear to the gilt rims and handles, and some petals missing on one, perhaps two flowers, but barely visible. All in all, a fine Nineteenth Century piece of Viennese or Austro-Hungarian porcelain.
