Note the absence of a mint mark.
\"Trench\" reverse; This variation has a circular, trench-likedepression 4mm wide and 6mm from the corner of the screwpost. All specimens have been noted in the 100,000- 300,000 serial number range. Most observed piecer does not have a mint markbut do have serial numbers.
Description:The Red Enamel on theRed Star look perfectly. The white enamel has a small chip between\"B\" & \"H\" letters and a tiny scratch between star andletter \"O\" Silver, 14 Kgold (hammer & sickle emblem), enamels; 46.1 mm tall, 43.6 mm wide. Thisvery interesting early piece features well defined star relief to the reversewith several additional \"shadows\" of the star. The mint mark is inslightly curved up lines. On the obverse, there is one rudimentary ray underthe blade of the saber near the hilt. This is one of the earliest examples ofthe Order of the Patriotic War manufactured at the Krasnokamsk Mint soon afterthe June 1943 change in design from suspension to screw back the way it wasattached to the clothing.
