Classic raised petal fluted urn shape.

Elegant scrolling leaf and floral on stain decorative band along upper rim.

Above, delicate leaf and floral sprays to overhang corners. United by florette and twin vine streams.

Well cast twin vine and cascading floral engraved overhead swing handle. Well hinged.

Atop thick stepped base, with conforming twin vine and florette to edge.

This rare 1838 Russian coin silver basket is 7 3/4 tall and 6 1/4 long.

Exceptionally thick, heavy guage solid silver construction 11 1/2 (standard) ounces.

Hallmarked as shown, the interior centre, base and handle.

In very fine condition. Rich, lustreous silver patina throughout. The beautiful raised shell and floral decoration retains its original crisp, vibrant detail. Stands perfectly firm on table or display shelf. Handle well hinged and remains upright when desired. The interior centre with later added fluted medallion, secured by two screws under base.
