It is decorated with a trompe l'oeil fringed linen napkin draped over the top part of the box. The details are amazing on this item. This box is in excellent condition and quite a rare item! The box is 3" tall x 2" wide without the lid and 3 5/16" tall with the lid on. This box is heavy and weighs 225.7 grams. This box had gold decoration on the fringe of the napkin of the lid and on the insects and plants on the box bottom. Unfortunately the gold has significant wear and in many places completely gone. The silver box itself is in excellent condition. Box is marked inside the lid and outside on the bottom with Pavel Ovchinnikov, silver hallmark 84 and double headed imperial Russian eagle.
