Stunning Russian 84 silver ice bucket offered for the first time to the public market. Wonderful floral engravings with a little bird perched therein. Monogrammed with an \"M\" at center.Gilt wash to the inside. Drinker\'s prayer inscribed around the entire rim in old Cyrillic. The three pictures of the inscription show only the front (most of it) - - it continues around the back. I can make out part of it but there are a few words I don\'t know so I\'ll save you the butchered translation...if you\'re looking at it, you probably read Russian a lot better than I do.
Marked five places (handle, both handle mounts, bucket, bottom) for Varvara (Warwara/Barabara) Baladanova.Almost flawless condition. Weighs in at 685 grams. Two very minor condition issues. One, there are dents on either side of the rim where the handle has rested over the years. Two, there is a slight discoloration to the gilt wash on the bottom of the bucket. The small dents you cannot see in the pictures but they are exactly as you would expect. The discoloration you can see in the pictures. Otherwise perfect. The silver is not marked anywhere for Faberge but, from what I understand, Baladanova did work with Faberge for some time.
