\"Poljot\" are manufactured by the First Moscow Watch Factory (1st MWF) in Moscow, Russian Federation. The Factory was a pioneer in Soviet watch production developing and putting out a broad variety of production from wristwatches to special precision instruments for space-system engineering, aviation and fleet and in today\'s Russia \"Poljot\" still holds leading positions in development of mechanical and quartz watches.
On the 12th of April 1961 the first cosmonaut Juri Gagarin took the wristwatch \"Shturmanskie\" into the space during his historical flight. The watch passed the \"space test\" perfectly. To mark the occasion of the Soviet Cosmonauts\' first space flight the First Moscow Watch Factory began to produce wristwatches called \"Poljot\" (\"Poljot\" means \"Flight\" in Russian). Since that time \"Poljot\" became the trademark of the 1st MWF.
In the recent years the factory has paid much attention to the make-up and design of the watches and also to the extension of their variety. One of the important marks in the modern factory development was a purchase of equipment set from the Swiss firm \"Willemin-Macodel\" and the factory specialists\' training in Switzerland. It has made it possible for the 1st MWF to considerably improve design and consumers\' qualities of watches and to produce really unique watches with quality comparable to expensive Swiss timepieces but with low Russian prices. In 1992 and 1993 the factory was awarded with prestigious \"XX Golden Trophy For Quality\" and \"XXI International Trophy For Quality\".
