Russian lacquered, hand-painted wooden egg, with a front-sidepainting of man and child (my best guess is Joseph holding Jesus, but I would appreciate it if viewers with differing opinions could tell me what they think),and a back-side gold-tonedcross.The egg comes with a stand. The egg is approximately 4-3/4\" tall on the stand. Without the height added by the stand, the egg is about 2-3/4\" tall, and about2\" in diameter at its widest point. All measurements are approximations.
This Russian egg is from an estate containing large quantities of collectibles, including large quantities of Russian eggs which I will be selling on .
The Russian wood egg is in good condition, but does have a tiny scuff mark around the back of the egg, above and to the right of the gold-toned cross. The egg has a metal button on the bottom, which renders it slightly unstable on the stand, but there is no problem getting the egg to stay perfectly upright in the stand seat. The lacquer on the stand (as opposed to the egg) is showing some fissure lines in the stand sea and on the exterior of the stand. Finally, there is a piece of paperpasted tothe bottom of the stand, and onwhich words in Cyrillic lettering have been stricken/interlineated, and other words in Cyrillic alphabet have been hand-written in their place.
The egg and stand will be shipped by USPS First Class Mail. I can combine shipping, if possible.
