Certainly this is the most unusual stove top sad iron heating devise or oven that I have ever come across......
One that I am not familiar with
This receptacle / holderwas intended to be inserted into awood / coal stoves surfacelid opening
for heating two sad irons allowing them to be transported and usedelse ware- presumably
thereby avoiding them fromcooling down for a longer period of time while
away from any heating source andwhile their at rest tucked away inside
Signed: MONITOR with both \" Trap Doors\" having the letter\"M\" monogram
NOTE: I wonder ifthe name on this odd looking item called “ Monitor ” is in reference
