You are offerding ona SET of 19 ANTIQUE CLASSIC HARDCOVER CLOTHBOUND BOOKS from the BOOK LEAGUE of AMERICA. Judging from the dates in a few of this particular group of books, I believe they may range from the 1930\'s to the 1940\'s. Many do not all have publishing date in them as per the information in paragraphs below copied from Wikipedia. All the books have TIGHT BINDINGS. The pages are CLEAN and NOT TORN. Just leafing through I could find no writing in any of the books. They are Navy with gold gilt lettering which can be read on all the books but is a little worn, can be seen in pictures. Covers are in Good Condition with some normal fading. I pictured a few dents on a few corners and only found one book where I found the tear by binding as pictured. Most of the hardcovers are in very good condition. Size is approx 8\" x 5 1/2\". The books included are:

TheBook League of America, Inc.was aUSbook publisherandmail orderbook sales club. It was established in 1930, a few years after theBook of the Month Club.[1]Its founder wasLawrence Lamm, previously an editor atMacmillan.[1]The company was located at 100Fifth Avenue,New York City,New York[2]in a 240,000-square-foot (22,000m2) office building that was constructed in 1906.[3]Itprintedanddistributeda variety of volumes in the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s. A victim of theGreat Depression,[1]the Book League of America was purchased byDoubledayin 1936.Book League of America printed and published contemporary and classic books. The clothboundhardcoverwas commonly a dark navy-blue, though sometimes red or black. There was an embossed logo on the front. Depending upon a variety of exposure conditions and perhaps publishing years, the spine cloth faded differently, with some of the spines remaining dark navy, while others turned purple or navy-green. The spine featured book title and author in gold or silvergiltlettering, along with decorative scrolling, sometimes in anart decomotif. Most of the pages were smooth-cut on the top and bottom edges, anddeckledon the outer edge. Some books contained the note: \"This book is standard length, complete and unabridged. Manufactured under wartime conditions in conformity with all government regulations controlling the use of paper and other materials.\" This explains the yellowed or tanning paper condition, more noticeable in some books than others. Some books were illustrated. Many of the books did not include a publish date.Dust jacketswere not included.
