MADE by Donath & Co., circa 1893-1916.
The saucer is 4.5 inches in diameter.The cup is 2 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide, including the handle.
One chigger bite on one of the cups. No chips or cracks.
Very Minor gold loss consistent with age and the fragile nature of hand-painted gold.
These lovely Dresden Demitasse Cups and Saucers have beautiful multi-colored flowers and gold trim and gold dots and highlighting.
Dresden is not a factory but a generic term for this German regional porcelain. The gold rose flower mark indicates the artist\'s signature for Donath & Company. They used blanks by Meissen, Rosenthal and MZ Austria using a gold over glaze flower to hide the manufacturer\'s mark (seen in photos). Marked on the bottoms in blue: Dresden, GERMANY. Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, or stains, pieces were very well cared for. As noted earlier, one cup has a chigger bite, which can be felt when running finger on edge of cup.
