Siam Ribbon Ixora is a somewhat rare, and not well known type of tropical Ixora. It is a smaller growing type which will reach a mature size of 2 to 2.5 feet. It is a prolific warm season bloomer bearing large flower heads in shades of bright scarlet red to coral. It\'s most unique feature is the unusual ruffled, curled appearance of the leaves. Peak bloom is often in the late summer to early Fall, with it\'s firey colors making it a great choice for color pots.

About the plant you will receive:

One (1) mature,well rooted starter size plant
Shipped in a 4 inch diameter plastic pot
Plant will be a minimum of about 6 inches tall, with multiple branches. (this is a slow growing dwarf cultivar)
Unlikely to have bloom or bud at the time of shipping
Suitable to grow outdoors in Zones 9, 10, 11 (Cold protection required in all Zones).

Suggested uses include planting as a low hedge, incorporating into mixed perennial beds, using in layered beds, mass planted, accents, or as potted plants for the porch or patio.

Direct planting of 4 inch size starter plants is generally not recommended, so for the best results with your new plant, we recommend it be repotted and allowed to grow larger before setting out in a tropical landscape.

When the new pot has filled with roots and the plant is larger, then here a few hints for successful growing in the landscape. Dwarf Ixora can be grown as a potted plant indefinitely.

Plant in fertile well drained soil in the full sun.
Provide regular irrigationl
Feed a good quality, slow release, bloom boosting plant food 2x yearly.
Supplement with a water soluble plant food in between feeding.
Prune lightly and often when young to encourage branching.
Protect from frost and freeze.
