VANDE AUSTRALIAN POTTERY
Presenting a fantastic vintage Australian Pottery dish / plate
created and signed by the renowned Sydney potter Vande.
This exquisite piece features a beautifully executed
portrait of a male Australian Aboriginal.
The exceptionally well rendered portrait has been inscribed
into the black central glaze, the sgrafitto image scratched into
the surface of the glaze to reveal the cream toned body below.
A band of diagonal inscribed lines trims the rim of the
dish, beautifully framing the Aboriginal portrait.
This exceptionally fine example of Vande pottery is presented in
excellent vintage condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. There is fine
overall crazing as is to be expected with a piece of this vintage, but mentioned
for accuracy. This piece has been very well cared for and presents spectacularly.
This fabulous piece measures approx
123mms in diameter and stands 25mms tall.
This piece is beautifully marked to the base with hand brushed lettering \"Vande AM\"
along with a \"Vande Handpainted\" stamp which we have not seen before.
