SIGNED VINTAGE STERLING SILVER GIANMARIA BUCCELLATI OWL ON WOOD STAND SCULPTURE
I have recently bought a collection of signed Italian Buccellati sterling silver animal sculptures from a local estate. All of the pieces will be listed over the next few days and all will be sold without reserve. Part of this collection includes a very large and rare silver owl mounted on wood with silver flowers, so please see my other listings for rest of this fine sterling silver animal collection.
This listing is for a large figure of a mounted on a wood stump with floral silver decorations. The bird on the wood stump measures 14 inches or 35.5 cm high. The piece as a whole weighs 1370.7 grams, the body of the bird (without the feet) weighs 582.5 grams or 18.76 troy ounces. The owl has large round eyes set with natural tigers eye stones, which really adds to the quality of the piece. Decorating the carved wood stump are silver flower and leaves. The silver sculpture is done with excellent attention to detail and is signed on the bottom of its tail feathers “GIANMARIA BUCCELLATI ITALY”.
The silver owl and wood base are in very good condition, there is some age appropriate darkening to the silver. Please see the many photographs.
