FINE SOLID SILVER BACHELOR\'S TEAPOT HALLMARKED LONDON 1895 BY WILLIAM HUTTON & SONS
A very fine solid silver Teapot, often referred to as a Bachelor\'s Teapot due to the lovely proportions. This circular teapot is nicely shaped in a circular design with a fluted lower half to the body of the Pot and the same fluted design on the neat spout. The lid is hinged and has a charming wooden finial surmounted on the top. The handle is an ebonised wood (we cannot be totally sure of this material as some Teapot handles were made from a plastic composite material during that time).
The teapot is lovely to hold by the handle and would grace any tea tray perfectly or fabulous for a collector of fine silver.
Clear hallmarks and maker\'s marks are visible one one side of the pot and under the lid for the London Assay Office with a date mark for 1895, along with the Lion Passant indicating sterling silver and the maker\'s mark for the silversmith William Hutton & Sons.
Condition: This Teapot is in very nice antique condition. There is a very slight ding to the rim on one side of the pot (see last image), however this does not detract in any way from this lovely pot and is commensurate with age. The handle shows some slight wear (see images).
