This version of the Drake jug was produced to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the defeat of the Spanish Armada 1588. Commissioned by the Guild of Specialist China Glass retailers, this jug was issued in 1988 in a special edition of 6000 pieces. Designed by Peter A. Gee. This jug is a large, 7 inchestall, and has a Royal Doulton number of D6805. The handle is the Golden Hinds bow and sails.
