Here we have a very fine 100% original Slingerland May Bell Model \'A\' tenor banjo with 19 frets. The fretboard is ebony and the frets show no real wear just aging. The fretboard has no wear as well. Most of the brass hardware is in superb condition. This is a 3 owner instrument over an approximateperiod of 85 years and it has been properly maintained and carefully taken care of. When it came in my store it was in tune and sounded FANTASTIC with a very rich TONE. This banjo is ready to play. The action is nice and low and the sound is very loud. The mother of pearl inlays are gorgeous! The \'bear claw\' tailpice, fine tuners, and grover machine heads are in excellent condition like all the other brass hardware. There is normal honest light wear from aging and there are some nicks and dings. The back of the headstock black overlay tip shows some wear thru the finishin that area but nothing serious. I think the pictures speak for themselves.

Body thickness is 3 3/8\" from rim to back of cover.
Body is11 1/4\" deepfrom rim edge to rim edge.
The original case is in superb agedcondition as well.
