SMALL ANTIQUESHAHSAVAN SUMAK VANITY (\"Stash\") BAG, Azerbaijan Province,last quarter of the 19th century, and coming invery good original condition for the bag face collector.The exact size is:6\" x 9\" (15 x 23cm).This rather rare little sumak collector\'s bag is all wool in construction with natural dyes derived from organic plant sources. It is in very good original condition with slight surface abrasions and slightly \"nicked\" corners on the top left and bottom right from past ethnographic age use. Small weavings like this antique specimen were made for personal use and often giving as gifts by young weavers to elder male memebers for use as Tobacco or money bags.This neat littleexample is much more than 100 years old and it comes with its original plain-weave backing.
