A small size rectangular antique sterling silver vinaigrette, the cover with wrigglework decorations and foliate border, with a small vacant cartouche. The underside with a small bright cut engraved vignette and also a foliate border. The grille is fine and very pretty.

It is fully and clearly hallmarked with the anchor for the assay town of Birmingham, the lion passant for the sterling standard guarantee, the date letter \'M\' for the year 1835, and king\'s head of William IV as duty mark. Maker\'s mark JW for the silversmith Joseph Willmore.

In excellent antique condition without dents, splits or repairs, and with a good clean hinge. The grille is original and hallmarked with lion passant as should be and is especially pretty. This fine antique vinaigrette would make a worthy addition to a good collection.
