The mounting is beautifully made and thick – there is a lot of gold. It measures 1.25 inch in diameter and the carving is exquisite. In fabulous condition – the point on the very bottom right hand side I will show a close-up photo of – it may have a small nick or it may be carved this way – it is hard to tell even under magnification. One of the little gold balls may have been resoldered or replaced – see photo. It is so dark it looks black but when held up to the light it is a deep rust/carnelian color in areas.
