Magnificent LAKOTA pattern HAND BEADED DOLL handmade by Artist DENNIS POLAK !!!! Using his own brain tanned deerskin, Dennis Polak hand sews this special one of a kind doll filled with buffalo fur.
The beautiful hand beaded yoke uses old pink, green, ruby, cobalt and light blue italian seed beads to create the traditional Lakota pattern. The horse hair braids are tied with old calico and adorned with dentalium shells, tiny trade beads, and handmade tin cones. A special hand made decorated brass conch sits on the back of her head. A tiny turquoise seed bead bead necklace graces her neck.
The leather belt is studded with brass spots from which a leather knife pouch holds a small wooden knife and a wool bundle tied with leather string. Note an addition beaded pouch on the back of her belt.
Black and red vintage wool leggings sit above her intricately beaded moccasins.
Wonderful detailing continues on the back of her buckskin dress!
