Superb Heavy 138 Grams Early Victorian Hallmarked Solid Sterling Silver Snuff Box Made By Edward Smith
Description - Splendid antique heavy good gauge solid silver table snuff box with hinged lid, the lid and sides have raised floral and foliate cast borders with the sides and base having nice engine turned decoration, the interior is silver-gilt (gold washed).
The box is fully hallmarked with the anchor for Birmingham assay, the lion passant indicating 925 grade solid sterling silver, the Queen\'s head, the date letter \"X\" for the year 1846 and the maker\'s mark \"E S\" which isEdward Smith.
Condition - The box is in very good condition,there are no dent, dinks, splits, holes and repairs, the decoration is in good order with slight rubbing isplaces, the hinge is in excellent working order, the interior silver gilt is nice and bright but has slightdiscolorationin some spots.
