SPLENDID LARGE PAIR ANTIQUE FRENCH EMPIRE LOUIS XV CHATEAU TORCHERE 2 BRANCH GILT BRONZE WALL SCONCES/APPLIQUES

This superb pair of antique French Empire Chateau wall sconces are in heavy solid gilt bronze. They are in the form of classical torcheres and each applique has two curving branches with elegant drip trays and candle holders carrying the electric light fittings. The torchere wall plate have flame tops, acanthus leaf decoration and a finial at the base. They have a warm gilt bronze patina and are in very good condition with no damage or repairs. The vintage wiring is good and in working order and they have a wall mounting bracket at the rear and foundry marks. They measure 14 ins in height without the bulbs, 10 ins wide and stand out from the wall 6 & 1/2 ins. A very elegant pair of antique French Louis XV Empire wall lights.
