STERLING SILVER NAVAJO OLD PAWN TURQUOISE LADIES RING SPLIT SHANK SIZE 5.5
This is an older Navajo ring, likelypre mid-Century, that has retained it\'s character and presence. It is sterling silver and the beautiful oval shaped Royston mine turquoise setting measures 7/8\" tall, 5/8\" at the widest point and rises 1/16\" above it\'s 1/8\" smooth bezel setting. The bezel is bordered by 2 mm sterling twisted rope. In this case, the absence of periphery clutter allows the intrinsic value of this stone to be in the forefront and it certainly is. It sits on a split shank that is 1/4\" on the sides in the front, tapering to 1/8\" in the back where it is still over 1 mm thick so your jeweler should have no problem sizing either way if necessary. If you can see it, just below midpoint the stone does have an extremely fine fracture or scratch across it which is intentionally displayed and best seen in picture #2. It is difficult to feel it or see it and the stone is without a doubt secure and tight. The ring is not marked which is not unusual for it\'s age, but it does acid test positive as sterling silver. and can be considered a real find for the authentic collector. Total weight is 6.2 grams.
