Overview

I love Breitlings from this period and this 1960\'s Breitling Top Time Tri-Compax is just stunning. The original crisp white and slightly pearlescent Breitling signed dial has been professionally refinished to the highest possible standards and is just magnificent. The 3 subsidiary dials, black \'stick\' hands and steel hour batons are perfectly framed by the gleaming steel case. The case top and sides are in excellent condition with only the most minimal signs of wear - the case back does have a few minor dings and surface scratches (the case back is Breitling signed but does show some fading and polishing it would remove this - happy to have it done if required). The original Breitling signed manual wind movement has just been serviced by our professional watchmaker. To complete this watch we\'ve added a new, high quality, leather strap with steel Hirsch buckle. We hold the Hirsch franchise so can change this to any colour/material if you prefer.

My asking price is below the value for a watch of thiscondition and rarity, particularly with the continual rise in value of vintagewatches of this high quality. In view of the high grade Swiss movement, I willinclude a three month written guarantee on the movement, which is long enoughfor you to assess the working order. Also, I offer a full refund if you are notentirely happy, as long as the watch is returned within seven days for the UK,twelve days if overseas, in the same condition.

The Case

The gleaming provenance polished solid steel case is in excellent condition with only minor signs of wear to the top and sides. As mentioned, the case back does have surface scratches and a few minor dings - happy to send the original pictures if required.The case measures 38 mm\'s wide, excluding the Breitling signed winding crown and 45 mm\'s, including the lugs. The outside caseback is signed \'Breitling\', \'Stainless Steel, Shock Proof, Antimagnetic and Waterproof\' (please note, due to the age we cannot guarantee it\'s fully water proof). The inside is signed \'Breitling Watch Ltd Swiss\' and carries the case reference of 986320.

The Movement

The Breitling signed manual wind movement is in excellent condition and has just been serviced by our professional watchmaker. It is signed \'Breitling Watch Ltd\', \'Seventeen 17 Jewels Unadjusted\' and \'Swiss\'.

The Dial

The original Breitling signed crisp white dial is just magnificent. The steel hands and steel applied hour batons along with the 3 sub-dials create a truly stunning look.It is signed \'Breitling Geneve\', \'Top Time\' and \'Swiss\'.

The Strap

As mentioned, this watch sits on a new black with white stitching leather Hirsch strap with a steel Hirsch buckle.

The Conclusion

This is a beautiful example of a watch from one of horology’s mostfamous names and will, if history is any judge, provide an excellent financialinvestment as well as a possession to treasure and enjoy.
