STUNNING A/O C/M 19” French Belton 137 Bebe w/Flat Head/3 Holes/Blu Ribbon LR:
$785.00

Here is a gorgeous, outstanding, all original, closed mouth, pouty, French Belton character girl with a beautiful full square pouty face, flat top solid done head with 3 holes for stringing, amazing, huge bulgy, spiral thread blue paperweight eyes, original mohair wig along with fabulous original wood jointed and composition, straight wrist Sonneberg body. She has her amazing original drop waist silk pleated dress, original pantaloons, slip, socks and her fabulous original leather shoes, along with her stunning antique cape with fur trim and a marvlous matching bonnet with huge silk bows. If you notice she is a first place blue ribbon winner in 2002 at the Audrey Willmann’s Doll & Bear Show in St. Claries, Illinois. This Belton is absolutly gorgous and one of the most beautiful 137’s I’ve ever had and it’s always a treat to find out one of your dolls is a blue ribbon winner. A lot of the Belton’s aren’t as pretty and their coloring can be a bit off but not this wonderful doll. She is 19\" tall and marked 137 and 11 on the bottom of the neck and was made in the later 1800\'s by one of the German or French doll Factory\'s. I believe some of the Belton\'s were maybe by the Bahr & Proschild Factory but again I think other French and German factory\'s did also. She has beautiful pale smooth, creamy bisque with no chips, cracks or hairlines and her coloring is fantastic. She has huge almond shaped, spiral thread, blue glass bulge paperweight eyes along with painted upper and lower lashes. The sculpting and detail to her full, pouty square face is marvelous and the sculpting and detail is outstanding. She has full rosy cheeks and her full lips and closed mouth are fabulous. She has pierced ears with no chipping and again her face is just stunning. Her original mohair wig is excellent with long curls down the back and wispy bangs that frame her face perfectly. Her wig is a bit messy from being packed away for decades and could be picked or brushed but I don\'t do hair and for me, it looks great. Her original straight wrist Sonneberg body is in excellent condition and still retains the original finish. There is some normal wear here and there but no touch ups or repairs and the color is fabulous. She has wonderful longer arms and her straight wrists, hands and fingers are excellent. The Sonneberg body\'s are different looking with a fuller torso with elongated bottom and longer straight upper legs with regular bottom legs and feet. She is wearing her amazing original silk dress with long sleeve blouse in excellent condition. Her blouse has long full sleeves with gathers and delicate lace around the edges. I think there used to be elastic or thread around wrists but it’s stretched out over time. Her dress is amazing with tight pleats down the front to the drop waist with a wide sash and bow in front. The pleats continue past the sash with 2 full rows of the same tight pleats making her dress flair out beautifully around the bottom. The dress is lined and around the inside of the dress at the bottom is a stiffer type of netting that helps the dress hold it’s shape. As you can see the back of her dress to the sash has no pleats. I assume that’s due there being some sort of jacket or cover. It does not appear there were ever pleats in back so there is something on this original dress missing. There are a couple tiny area’s where you can see a little melting of the silk but it’s in the pleats so you don’t notice. Her original pantaloons are super with delicate lace around the legs and her slip is wonderfully full. She has her marvelous original antique socks with darker band around the top that are perfect with her dress and her original shoes are excellent. They are a bit fragile around the stitched area’s on the sides but that appears to be easy to fix. The laces were frayed so I put some matching cording for the ties and it looks great but you might have old ties that would work better. Her antique cape is stunning and is silk with designs of a of softer material. Her cape is silk lined and has fabulous fur around the collar. She has a wonderful antique clip or broach at the neck that holds her cap around the neck so she will be warm in the early mornings of spring. She is wearing an amazing straw and silk bonnet made with antique material. Her bonnet is straw with a wide brim and a wide row of ruffled of lace around the inside or the brim. There is a gorgeous over sized double silk bow on top of her bonnet with long silk ties that match her outfit perfectly. She is just the perfect, chunky, full face pouty French type Belton character with her amazing original outfit and would make a fabulous addition to any collection or a wonderful surprise in the middle of your Easter basket. This stunning, pouty, closed mouth, 19\" French type Belton 137 character should sell for around $3200.00 but my reserve is less so don\'t let her get away. Lucky winner pays $39.00 S/I and international would be more. Email any questions and thanks for looking. Check out my other sales for more wood jointed, composition character and antique bisque dolls.
