I will be selling a good number of interesting antiques this week (possibly adding pieces on Friday 23rd) including Tribal art, Chinese, Japanese, Indian and European antiques. PLEASE NOTE: This sale is in GB Pounds Sterling.

This is a fantastic antique Maori carved wooden tewhatewha with a huge head (the biggest I remember seeing) and some finely carved detail lower down the shaft. It has a thin hole cut into the head for the suspension of feathers (long since gone) and an old label which reads \"Tewhatewha Maori\". It comes from a provate Belgian collection and prior to that it was in the collection of Reuben Reubens whose fantastic collection of tribal art was sold through Bonhams in 1990 (this tewhatewha was one of several pieces on the front cover of the catalogue) I am selling this rare piece at a very low starting price and with .

It measures about 53.5\" / 136cms long which means that it will cost quite a lot to send, particularly far afield (see prices below).

Postage & PackingFor your peace of mind and mine items will be sent fully insured. I will be posting from TUESDAY 3rd February so please make payment as early as possible, ideally within 3 working days. PLEASE be a little patient with the post - I will get them posted asap but I work on my own, have a large amount to post and I do pack carefully. I also post in the order that things are paid for.

Any delays by the postal services either at my end or abroad are rarely my fault and please take into account that your item will be arriving during the very busy Christmas period. I always post out at the latest 3 working days after receiving cleared payment but sometimes an item is slowed up by a backlog of post or delayed whilst being processed through customs. To give you an idea it generally takes about 3-7 working days within Europe and 9 - 14 working days to the U.S. / rest of the world. If speed is of the essence then I can use a courier (DHL / FEDEX etc.) but prices for couriers start at around £30 / £40GBP for the very smallest object and VERY quickly escalate depending on size, weight and destination. Please note also that there was a considerable hike in postage prices by the Royal Mail last year. I add on very little, often not enough to cover the packaging materials, so the price I quote really is as fair as possible.
