This is a quite stunning carved wooden oak pipe rack with the intricate reliefcarvings of the male heads, other heads centrally with other intricate carvings of which:
During our research we have been informed it certainlydates from the early period of the 19th century.
Dates about c1820s.
Of a Black Forest origin.
A carved wooden oak pipe rack with the shelf to the top.
Reliefcarvings to either end of the male heads.
one wearing a crown with a beard.
Other also wearing a crown with the face of a jester.
Two other relief carved heads centrally with the intricate carved panel below.
Pipe rack for six pipes mounted centrally.
A carved shelf to the top with the curved shape.
Would be wall mounted.
Made up in sections which can be observed from the rear. (
Ithas an overall sizeof about 20 x 9.25inches.
Max depth to the top of about 6inches.
Condition: Considering the age, the overall condition is very good and is without any blemish except:
an early repair to the top centrally.
minor chipping , nibbling to the edges at the rear.
Screws replaced to the rear.
Cracking to the central panel.
