Rare Georgian Sterling Silver Nutmeg Grater by One Of The Most Famous Georgian Silversmiths, Joseph Willmore ,Birmingham 1819.

This highly collectible masterpiece has been offered with what so sterling silver hallmarks on both lid and base:

Birmingham 1819.

Maker: JW. Joseph Willmorewho was registered in Birmingham between 1798 & 1843 and is famous in making top quality silver Vinaigrette, Snuff Box and Nutmeg Grater.

This beautiful pinprick decoration on its lid has made a superb background for a blank central rectangular cartouche, so it can be personalised.

It carries its original hinged steel grater.

It was made from outstanding gaugeof sterling silver [28 grams].

It has a supreme quality and is in superb condition after 194 years with No are in good working order and both lid and grater close nicely and tightly.

Grater is also in nice condition with very minimal signs of aging.

In close inspection, I have notice a small seam opening in one corner of the lid.This even hardly can be seen in close inspection and you might not spot it in close up pictures but just mentioned for accuracy.
