This is a stunning porcellaneous inkwell with the rabbits to the base of which:
During our research we have been informed it certainlydates from the mid 19th century.
Dates about c1850s.
Staffordshire, Englandorigin.
Porcellaneous.
A stunning inkwell in the form of a tree with the handles to either side.
To the base: five rabbits eating the intricate coloured flowers and other.
One of these, is under the tree coming out of the rabbit hole.
Mounted onto the decorative hollow base with gilt band around the circumference.
Other areas of gilt.
It has an overall height of about 3.5inches.
Max basesize ofabout 4.5 x 3inches.
Condition: Considering the age: the overall condition is excellent with no major blemishes except:
a n early area of restoration to the top and bottom of a handle.
Minor nibbles to the intricate flowers & other.
Due to age: areas of fine crazing.
All as perpictures.
Besides being a very collectable, mid 19th century Staffordshire inkwell with the intricate decoration of rabbits to the base, with the intricate coloured flowers & other, mounted onto the decorative base, c1850s, would also look fabulous displayed.
