STUNNING PAIR: 19thC GOTHIC WOODEN OAK INTRICATE GARGOYLE CORBEL CARVINGS c1880:

These are a quite stunning pair of gothic carvedwooden oak corbels with the gargoyles and acanthus leaf carvings of which:

During our research we have been informed they certainlydate from the 19th century.

Date about c1880.

Of a european origin.

Superb gothic relief carvings of the gargoyle corbels.

Intricate carvings with the clawed feet and curled tails.

Acanthus leaves above and to the end of the tail.

Intricate facial features.

Relief carved into the oak frames with the beaded edge decoration.

Each has an overall height of about 14.25inches with:

overall lengths to the basesof about 13.5inches.

Max depth of about base of about 4inches.

frame depths to the top and rear of about 2.5inches.

Condition: Considering the age, the overall condition to both is excellent and both are not subject to any major blemishes.
