Description A superb rareEnglish antiquesolid sterling silverRoyal Coronation novelty \"envelope\" stamp case by the silversmiths Gourdel Vales & Co - (1900-1911), and with a full set of English silver hallmarks for Birmingham 1901. Excellentquality original116 year old silver holder, a scarce example with the embossed profile of King Edward VII within a laurel surround, (actually hallmarked for 1901 but not crowned until 1902). Has a hinged silver lid which opens and closes securely and as a bonus there are no added engraved personal inscriptions or monograms. It has its original silver bale ring andattached is a genuine silver three-pence coin dated 1909. Inside is a genuine antique stamp.

MeasurementsMeasures approx.1.2 inches (29mm)x0.95 inches (24mm) and is0.2 inches (5mm) deep.

Date Englishantique late Victorian solid sterling silver with a full set of English silver hallmarks forBirmingham 1901(date letter \"b\"). Has hallmark stamps on case and lid. Also stamped with a date registration no \"Rd 388332\".

Maker Silversmith initials \"G.V & Co\" (Gourdel Vales & Co - 1900-1911).

ConditionLovely condition,with nosplits or cracks to the silver, no solder repairs, definitely no wear/pin holes and no nasty knocks or dents, just a couple of teeny little pin-head surface bruises, really nothing.The lid hinge works perfectly and the lid opens and closes securely witha firm click. Superb more uncommon decorative Royal Coronation stamp case, not plain as is more usual. There areno added engraved inscriptions or monograms.
