They were reproductionsof a pair dating back to 1782 in Sheffield, England by Fenton and Creswick. This pair dates to 1913and has the model number 18554. The pair stand 12\" tall and has a base of 5\" square. This classicpair have detachable bobeche candle holders. They are very architectural, I think, and nicely proportionedand beautifully crafted. They once belonged to the former Governor of New York Alfred Smith, who alsoran for President of the United States and carry his wifes\'monogram \"CAS\". They still have a celebration dinnerevery year in New York to honor and memorialize Al Smith that is often attended by candidates running for President,as was the case in the past election.
