A SUPER EARLY 19thC BRASS BOUND CAMPAIGN-STYLE FITTED VANITY BOX c1815If only this charming vanity box could recount tales of it\'s life....One can so easily imagine the \'adventures\' - both good and bad - it must have been part of over the last 200 years...Please see the attached photos wich are an integral part of this description.The box has a rich, beautifully patinated finish which contrasts with the bold brass banding and edging. Externally the box is in good order with only a couple of minor flaws which, whilst having been well looked after, are to be expected with an item which has clearly been well used. There is a little lifting of one of the brass bands on the top but this can be easily rectified. There is also sign of a very old split to one side of the lid - please see the photos - but this does not really detract significantly from the overall look of the box and again could be rectified if felt necessary..Internally the box is in very good order. The dark blue velvet lining to the lid has gold tooled edging. This all contrasts beautifully with the selection of bright silver plated lids in the body of the box itself - please see the photos.Overall a charming campaign box which displays very well and which is full of character. It would be a fine addition to any collection.Dimensions: 30cm x 21.5cm x 13cm
