SUPER RARE Gibson Mona-Steel String Box for Counter Display- the only one in existence? 1930s-40s? I have been collecting Gibson stuff for over 30 years and this is the only Gibson Mona-Steel String Counter Display box I have ever seen like this. It is hand numbered 39 on the back of the drawer and stamped 39 on the inside of the box. The font on the number 39 stampedinside the box is similar to what you would see stamped on the back of a guitar headstock. It has an old brass handle for the drawer pull. It is missing a couple of the original feet. Has one small missing piece on the upper corner of the drawer. And has beautiful vintage Gibson Mona Hand Made Strings brand information on the front side of the box in what appears to be red paint. I believe this could be the only remaining example of this type of Gibson String Box. Again it\'s the only one I have ever seen. I am not sure of the wood type but it could be a dark stained mahogany? The size is 12 inches long by 9 inches wide by 5 inches high. This is the perfect one off item for the elite Gibson collector, man cave or music room! Trades welcome.
