Up for sale with is a very fine Mid18th Century Georgian Sterling Silver Sugar Castor. The Pot is one of theearlier examples I have sold and is fully Hallmarked for the fine Period SilversmithSamuel Woodof London England and the Date Letter for 1749.Samuel Woodis a veryfine PeriodSilversmith and the quality of this Castor is superb. The Castor shows nice early Georgian Design and great signs of being completely Hand Made. The lid alsofeatures finely Pierced andEtched designs and there is a light Armorial as well. The Castor is a great size for display or actual use if you so choose, measuring approx 5-3/4\" tall by 2\" wide across the body with a nice weight of142 grams.The Castoris also in fine condition for the age withonly one minor dint mark that I am sure could easily be smoothed out if you so chose and nocracks or repairs.I am sure few 265 Year old Sterling Silver Sugar Castors come up for sale, let alone selling with !
