SUPERB 18th c OAK CARVED PEDIMENT WITH HORSE HEADS:

This is a superb and a very unusual 18thc oak wood pediment with two carved horse heads.

The attention to carved detail on this pediment is wonderful. To the top of pediment is a shell with a superb horse head carved to either side. A leaf sprouts from the mouth of each horse. Large graduated carved roundel to centre of pediment with turned spindle type carving below. Floral carving on winding stem further decorated.

Measures 15.25\" maxheight x 27.25\" overall length.

This carvedpedimentis in excellent age commensurate condition. Bit of minor chipping to top of shell but nothing of significance. All as per images.

A superb collectable 18th century oak carved pediment with horse heads. This is a solid and very heavy oak pediment.
