Up for sale is estate fresh 19th Century Wooden Firkin or Sugar Bucket in an early greenish blue paint. The Firkin measures approx. 16\" tall including the Handle upright, 11 3/8\" tall without the Handle and is measures 12 1/2\" in diameter at the Bottom, It retains its Original Handle and Lid, it also retains its Original Greenish Blue Paint Decoration, it is made of Pine with Tapered Sides and it is Constructed with Brass Nails. There is somenormal wear from use over the years, a few worn spots here and there to the Paint, there is an early repair for the top band and the bottom bands are a little loose from shrinkage. One of the handle pegs has a nail pin rather than its original wood peg holding the handle peg on the inside. Please see pictures for condition. Overallit is inFine Original Uncleaned Condition, the Lid fits securely andit Displays Superbly. The pictures dont do the paint justice as the firkin has a wonderful greenish blue paint patina that gets bleached out from the camera but in person is quite stunning. ThisWonderful 19th Century Firkin with its Original Paint Decoration would be an Exceptional Addition to any Collection.
