This is a superb male monk hooded figure candle holder ofwhich:

During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the 19th century.

It was part of a recent clearance of a convent of which had many items of interest.

Probably of a german superb monk figure portrayed with a candle holder and jug in other.

It has an overall height of about 7.5inches.

Base size of about 3.25 x 3inches.

Max width of about 5.25inches.

Condition: Considering the age, the overall condition is excellent with no major blemishes.

Black marks of which may from candle splatter.

Besides being a very collectable, 19th century monk figure with a candle holder, jug of a german and convent origin, c1890, would also look fabulous displayed.
