During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the 19th century.

Dates about c1890s.

Of a Europeanorigin.

It was part of a recent convent clearance of which:had many religious items of interest.

Silver oklad icon with:

hand painted heads and hands.

To the top: Mother & Child.

Angel Gabriel to the left with further figure to the right.

Raised decoration to the silver oklad with:

text.

Mounted into the wooden decorative frame in more recent times which has an overall size of about 7.75 x 6.5inches.

Overall depthof just under an inch.

Overall size of the silver oklad icon of about5.25 x 3.75inches.

Condition: Considering the age, the overall condition is excellent and is without blemish.
