A wonderful antique Indian hand painted miniature depicting the Taj Mahal in intricate detail, under glass andin a superb neo-Etruscan frame made of solid 15 carat gold (tests), with very fine granulated design and set with four genuine natural emeralds.It dates from around1860/70 and isinvery good condition, with light wear and a replaced silver back strengthener but no loss. The image shows slight water damage and/or dirt under the glass.It weighs21.9grams and measures1 ¾ x 1 ½inches. The final photo shows it with a US penny (1 cent) coinfor scale, which measures19mm/ ¾ of an inchdiameter.
