We are pleased to offer this beautiful, LARGE, antique Chinese Camphor woodtrunk. This elaborate trunk features 9 panels (3 on the front, 3 on the top, and 3 on the back) of intricately carved and detailed scenes in deep relief. The trunk is adorned with an abundance of brass trim and hardware. The brass is engraved with an elaborate designwhich features a scaled, fire breathing dragon. The serpent is done in ascrolling patternwhich is repeated throughout the face of the brass. The brass is secured with large brass nails/tacks. The trunk israised on 4 small legs. The inside contains a sliding top tray which moves freely, from side to side, via a larger wooden bottom that rests on wooden strips attached to the upper interior of the trunk. There are two large interior hinges which allow for smooth opening and closing of the trunk lid.A large lock on front fastens the lid in place. Thereis a large handle on each exterior side. The handles feature a decorative, engravedback plate. Each corner of the trunk is decorated withbrass trim that highlights the dragon.THERE ARE TOO MANY DETAILS ON THIS TRUNK TO CAPTURE IN THE 12 PHOTOS!

This is a beautiful, elaborate and large trunk. It is in very good, antique condition. There is some minor evidence of age. The brass engraving has some minor areas of wearto the pattern in a couple of areas. There appears to have been a second lock on the front which is missing. One of the side handles has beenreattached with two brass screws and the brass tacks are smaller on the back plate than the other tacksused on the piece. There are a couple of areas ofminor splitting of the wood on the face only, which is common. None of these issues are major or distracting from the trunk.Overall, the trunk is in extremely nice condition. IT IS SIMPLY STUNNING!

The trunk islarge and measures 48\" wide, 25\" tall and 21.75\" deep (front to back). The interior is 15.25\" in depth (from top to bottom). The sliding tray is 18.5\" x 16.75\" x 2.25\". The trunk is VERY HEAVY.
