This fabulous antique French linen and hemp flour sack dates from the mid 1800s.
Such a wonderful old weave that was homespun and handloomed. It is thick, heavyweight and tactile and couldn`t be any more natural!
These old rustic sacks are such divine handmade confections that are perfect for laundry bags, cushions, upholstery projects or any period interiors projects.
The weave is heavyweight and \"nubbly\" and the colours are perfectly natural that blends just as well in a period interior as it does a more contemporary setting.
The colours are unbleached warm cream with a buttermilk hue and the rich red chic stripe sit perfectly against this hue. Although if you look at the pictures if a softer look is required the sack can be used inside out.
The sack is all hand stitched and hemmed and in wonderful condition.
The measurements are:
length 44\" (112cms)
Width 20\" (51cms)
One top corner has a tie for closing.
It would be so easy to simply add a cushion pad and simply seal one end.
It is freshly laundered and perfectly clean!
