Please scroll down below description for more pictures.Dating from the late 1800s this is a beautiful antique French timeworn inlaid mahoganyplinth, stand or socle.
A fabulous interiors confection that has a look of sheer faded grandeur. It would once have been used with a glass dome but that is long gone.
It may once have held a statue or figure or something similar but now would be perfect for any period display.
It is a heavy wooden mahoganyconfection with an inlay of acanthus leaf scrolls and curls with a central flower cartouche.
It stands on 3 shaped feet.
There is some old long gone woodworm commensurate with age but it has been treated again and will go no further.
I haven`t cleaned this stand and it will polish as required.It is a solid piece that measures:
