ITEM DESCRIPTION

This saleis for a really interesting antique Royal Navy hat box.

Looks like it dates to the late 19th/early 20thC.

Has a really nice brass plaque engraved for Lieutenant R.H.L Bevan R.N - there is lots of information on him online and also published in several books so he appears to of been an important naval figure, rising to the rank of Rear Admiral.

The box measures 15 inches/38cm at the widest point.

Good antique condition as shown in the large and clear images, generally old and untouched etc - the lid does lock closed but the thin hinged latch has torn slightly as shown in the images.
