Splendid GeorgeV Hallmarked Solid Sterling Silver Vesta Case Made By John Rose
Description - Very nice antique solid silver rectangular vesta case with hinged lid and suspension loop, the vesta case has been beautifully hand engraved on both sides with a scroll foliate pattern and with a shield shape central vacant cartouche, the interior is silver-gilt (Gold washed).
The vesta case is fully hallmarked with the anchor for birmingham assay, the lion passant indicating 925 grade solid sterling silver, the date letter \"u\" for the year 1919 and the maker\'s mark \"J R\" which is John Rose.
Condition - The vesta casevis in good condition, there is a small dint on the cartouche and a very slight bruise on the back, there are no dents, dinks, splits, holes or repairs, the engraving is crisp, clear and in excellent condition, the hinge is in perfect working order snapping the lid shut.
Dimensions & Weight - The vesta case is 4.1cm long x 3.2cm wide, the weight is 16.3 grams.
