This sale is for a beautiful pair of authentic ancient Roman gold earrings dated 0 AD-300 AD (more than 1700 years old). These earrings have a fabulous Palmyrene design with red garnets, sheet gold construction and fabulous luster, 22k-24k pure gold. With some cracks and staining but in good condition. Measurements are 13mm & 15mm across. Found in Europe.These earrings can be compared to similar pieces shown in Hendin Catalog 89 #431, shown in picture 4. Ancient soldiers would bury their valuable treasures before a big battle hoping to return later. The items they didn\'t bury were often lost on the battlefield.
