Danish Sterling Silver Celtic Cross Pendant, Georg Jensen, Copenhagen, 1927-1930
A superb Sterling Georg Jensen Celtic Knot Cross Pendant,the arms with lobe silverchain, 28\" with button bar and loop.The pendant recently had a valuation appraisal made and is said to be made between 1927 and 1930 based on the markings see photo of recent appraisal showing remarks and estimated appraisal value. I will include a photocopy of my appraisal/valuation upon buyer request. Jensen apparently did not use 925 standard silver until 1927, though some special commissions were made before that date at this standard.There is a 29 A along with both 925 Sterling Denmark hallmarked on pendant back. It is not known whether chain is original or a later addition but the bar & loop may have been added later. The pendant and chain are both in excellent condition especially for age with a wonderful patina that I chose to leave as is and not polish so I will leave that up to the new owner if they wish to do so. The pendant measures 55mm height with bale x 45.5mm width and chain is 28\" long with 3mm wide links. Comes with Red Leather Jensen New York case as shown.I cannot say for sure that the box is original, but as Jensen opened at Fifth Avenue in New York in 1924-1925 then it certainly fits with the date of thepiece.Must have for the serious Jensen collector. I am extremely sad to see it go but I know it will become the right owner\'s perfect heirloom to pass down for generations.
