This is a superb gilt bronze gothic mount with the head of a male with the lions body & detail of which:

During our research we have been informed it certainly dates from the early period of the 19th century.

Dates about c1820s.

Gilt bronze.

A gothic mount with the intricate detailing of:

the males head with the open mouth.

A mask of a lion to the top of his head.

Surrounding mane of a lion with its intricate detail.

Lions clawed feet to the sides and base with the lions tail.

It has has an overall size of about 8.5 x 5.75inches.

Max depth of about 1.75inches.

Condition: Considering the age, the overall condition is excellent and it is not subject to:

any major blemishes..
