This is a superb gothic wooden oak bracket or shelf with the tracery carvings of which:
During our research we have been informed itcertainly dates from the early 19th century.
Dates about c1820s.
Of a european origin.
Was part of a churches clearance which had many religious items of interest.
A wooden oak shelf or bracket with the flat back, therefore, it would have been displayed and mounted onto a wall with the rear metal mounts.
gothic tracery carvings around the sides and fronts with:
the gothic decorative finial to the base.
Made up in sections.
Flat shelf to top with an overall max size of about 15.75 x 8.75inches.
the rear has an overall sizeof about 13.25 x 15.75inches.
Max depth of about 8.75inches.
Condition: Considering the age, the overall conditionis excellent and is not subject to any major blemishes except:
loss of two pieces of beading to the edge underneath the shelf which is quite easy to replace.
General ageing.
